Nagore Zeramika – Small works of craftsmanship made of ceramics and illusion.

Nagore Zeramika was born from the creative impulse of a young 22-year-old university student from Vitoria who, stuck in a routine, decided to start a ceramics course to find a space where she could disconnect and let herself go. What she didn't know at the time was that the start of that course would mark the path that would lead her to set up a small workshop in her grandparents' house, where, although surrounded by junk, she found the perfect space to immerse herself for hours and hours creating, learning and researching new techniques using clay as a means of expression.

The result of all those hours of work and enjoyment is all kinds of pieces, some decorative, pieces of jewellery and others for everyday use such as cups or bowls, although all of them have an artistic, modern and unique touch. White predominates in the pieces, mostly accompanied by textures that evoke movement and bright colours that balance the balance between the simple and the fun.

Using modeling as the main technique and sometimes the lathe, the pieces are made with clay and low-temperature glazes and each of them undergoes two batches that can reach 1000 degrees.

Behind every piece there is a whole story and, although something like a simple cup may not seem to tell it enough when looking at it, for the artisan it is what makes it completely unique. The long process that the pieces require is full of ups and downs, of victories when taking a beautiful piece out of the oven but also of frustration and defeat when seeing that weeks of work is reduced to pieces. But that is how ceramics are and you have to love it, and the passion that is in each piece speaks for itself.

Come and discover them in our November edition at the NH CANCILLER AYALA VITORIA.
