The couple Andrea and Javier form a young team united by a single motivation: to revolutionize the handbag sector.
They have founded Moorgon, minimalist wallets for men and women. MOORGON is related to “God morgon” good morning in Swedish, related to mountains and a sun, where a sunrise and a connection with nature are reflected.
Andrea tells us how the experiences lived by both of them in the Nordic countries inspired this very special, minimalist and tasteful collection:
Javier, my partner and business associate, had been complaining for months that his wallet was too bulky and that he thought it was an unnecessary burden. He had devised a mechanism to carry the only two cards in the case for his mobile phone and house key, a masterpiece 🙂 A few weeks later his rudimentary invention was transformed into the purchase of a more sophisticated case where those cards were better protected. It was not enough since when we traveled he had to continue carrying his classic brown leather wallet, which did not even fit in the glove compartment. In addition, his dissatisfaction with how it looked with his suit made him hate his old and worn wallet more and more every day.December 2017 arrived, and I thought it would be nice to find a wallet that was more in line with what he needed. After a lot of searching, I found a model that seemed very interesting and at a good price. I bought 3, it was going to be the star practical gift for Christmas! One for my boyfriend and two others for my brothers-in-law. I bought it well in advance just in case it was delayed and I was excited about the discovery. I was convinced that they were going to love it! They never arrived… the day before Christmas I found myself desperate to find a suitable gift for my relatives and partner in the male sector. What a huge disappointment, the supplier apologized and gave me my money back, but I was left disappointed without my gifts.
“Then I understood that there was a need and that I could try to market the product. I had been wanting to set up an e-commerce for years and I really wanted to get started. I spoke to my partner and he thought it was such a good idea and he liked the concept of a minimalist wallet so much that we immediately got to work. We made our own design and invested in an image in line with our values, where it could hold up to 10-12 cards and a pocket to store bills and some coins. That was our phase zero. We called ourselves Minimalist Wallets and we had five basic colors.”
This year, these young entrepreneurs want to enter the international market and that is why they have professionalized the brand, developing a new image and a commercial name adapted to this purpose. In addition, they understood that they had to provide added value to be able to differentiate it substantially from the current wallets that exist on the market. That is why they have decided to make two collections with ecological leather, one of them with a new model of wallet, colors with trends in the market and packaging that makes users have the best possible shopping experience.
The brand is now “MOORGON | “Slim Premium Eco Wallets”.
