Hello, friends! There is only one week left for our spring market at the Palacio de Santa Bárbara!! We are working hard to bring you the best in design and fashion, decoration and gastronomy, as you know! We continue to introduce you to colleagues who will make the Mercado del Encanto a great experience.
Two years ago it emerged TAKE A CAKE, a multidisciplinary design platform, with a main character, Mr. Nuno, who is the soul of the brand. TAKE A CAKE They are dedicated to artisanal bookbinding and they also write and edit children's and young adult stories. They also offer “Product Design”, that is, they apply their own image to different supports, such as mugs, t-shirts, binding papers, etc. They do everything manually and also with the help of digital tools. The papers used in the bookbinding work are brought from different countries: Japan, India, Nepal, Italy… and also their own papers, with designs inspired by Mr. Nuno's particular world and other stories.
What do you want to know more? Well, Mr. Nuno is a Portuguese pastry chef who lives in a very particular world and who always experiences strange and sometimes incomprehensible situations. He is an endearing and charming character, although a bit absent-minded and disastrous at the same time, but he is always happy. Behind this project are Natxo Arteta, Mercedes (his mother) and Laura Mendoza. All three work in the world of art, graphic design, writing and teaching.
So TAKE A CAKE It is a very special, intimate, quiet and inspiring space: “Our goal is to be happy, as much as possible, and to make others happy, sharing with everyone the things we create, with the hope of seeing that each creation is a fantastic experience”
