Lidia Muro is a versatile designer. She trained as a fashion designer at LISAA, Paris, and completed the master's degree in Textile Futures at Central Saint Martin's, London. She has worked at Givenchy, Céline, Kenzo, Paco Rabanne, Stella mc Cartney, between Paris and London and at the Clerici Tessuto haute couture textile factory in Como, Italy. Back in Madrid, Lidia has been in charge of the Textile and Accessories Departments at the Istituto Europeo de Diseño. In parallel, she has worked as a creative director and freelance designer for various accessory brands.
Lydia Wall is a global design project that debuts with RIVIERA.
RIVIERA is a collection of accessories inspired by summer trips to the seaside in a bygone era, the 1930s in particular. Recalling the region where she spent her childhood, Guéthé/Vizcaya, and having spent time in the French Basque Country (Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz) and the Côte d'Azur (Nice), Lidia draws inspiration from and adopts the formal language of a time when these coastal towns represented a very particular and recognisable status, codes and aesthetics. She also winks at the films of the Nouvelle Vague in the 1960s.
All RIVIERA accessories have the unique feature of being foldable. This means that they take up minimal space and are perfect for carrying in your suitcase or storing in your wardrobe. Furthermore, as they come in boxes of the same size, they are prevented from becoming deformed and creased.
The lines of the different articles are pure, geometric, very graphic. The longitudinal stripes are the other great distinctive feature of the brand.
The colours are vibrant and sensitive. The chromatic combination is surprising and virtuous, and in all cases very special, and easy at the same time.
RIVIERA is committed to sustainability. All leathers are carefully selected from high-quality surplus stocks, as well as the threads and zippers, making use of materials that have already been produced and discarded, and thus focusing on a “zero-waste” policy.
It is made entirely by hand in the best workshops in Ubrique. Lidia tries to give a new impetus to the Ubrique leather tradition, and preserve its legacy of ancestral techniques through innovation.
This weekend, you will be at the Christmas edition of #MercadodelEncanto and you will have the opportunity to see and try on all the models in the collection.
