Malula Bags is a project that aims to teach how to knit bags and some clothing items, all with their own design. Maria Luz, its creator, publishes on her Blog, free patterns and others for sale with supporting videos, descriptions and crochet diagrams.

She regularly sells her already woven bags directly. This time, she will do so at our Fall Edition of the Mercado del Encanto. Although selling the finished product is not her ultimate goal, but rather teaching how to make them.

Maria Luz is an economist who worked for more than 20 years in several multinationals in Madrid, until the twists and turns of life and her husband's work took her to live with her family in Mexico and then to São Paulo, where she lived for 6 years.
She then took the opportunity to look for other motivations to find her place, and to dedicate the amount of free time she had to doing something different and, above all, something she liked. Thus, trying different things, she discovered something she had hidden and didn't know about... Crochet.

She never imagined that with Crochet, in addition to serving as a distraction and addictive entertainment, she would be able to make bags, clutches, baskets, etc., and that they would also be pretty and functional.
The origin of all this was probably seeing her mother hooked on crocheting all her life, while she looked at her mesmerized and picked up a crochet needle, imitating her, thus learning to do the basic stitches.

It was in São Paulo, led by Thiago Rezende (@homemnaagulha), where she learned to make her first bag.
From there, along with the encouragement of her friends, it emerged Malula Bags. And since then she designs bags and tries to weave them with cotton, rag, jute, nautical thread, wool….
We encourage you to discover his work and try to discover, through his teachings, your ability and creativity.
