The name ELU (life, in Spanish) was born 5 years ago in Estonia, a small country on the Baltic coast, when Alex Fitiers and his wife decided to radically change their lives by moving to Spain.
Reflecting on what he could do in this new place, he decided to use all his professional and educational skills, combining his experience as a jeweler, his education as a designer and everything he learned from his father, also a jeweler and artist: making forged or hammered jewelry, using the technique of chiseling, soldering and setting... This is how it was born. ELU.
As for materials, he uses sterling silver, brass or copper. Always inspired by nature, with its soft, sometimes chaotic lines, with curves and meanders, he tries to repeat it in metal and highlight the most striking aspects.
This is how brooches “apple blossom” or other tree blossoms, “lotus” earrings and much more are born. I would not like to make “jewels of a day”. We have too much costume jewellery and imitation. My pieces do not have gold or diamonds either, they have artistic value. And at the same time, they are well made and durable. They are forever!
We hope that visitors to the spring edition of Logroño will appreciate their work as much as we do. They are truly spectacular!
