In the midst of Empty Spain, Alcarria is presented as a region full of possibilities.
Enchanted Alcarria It is a project that seeks socioeconomic development to contribute to providing solutions to the depopulation of the region and the environmental, health and economic impact in a changing world.
Its fair trade programme includes the following products:
A) Small producers from La Alcarria: honey, oils, vacuum-packed cheeses, pâtés, artisan chocolates, lavender derivatives, wines and artisan beers.
B) Small producers from rural and Amazonian communities in Latin America: specialty coffees, panela (brown sugar), and community crafts.
The Foundation COPRODELI was born in Peru in 1989 as a response from Fr. Miguel Ranera, a Spanish missionary, to the
social exclusion and the country's poverty caused by shortages and hyperinflation.
Throughout its more than 30 years of existence, COPRODELI has also established itself in Ecuador,
where it also contributes to the comprehensive development of marginalized sectors of the population in areas
both urban and rural by promoting employment through agro-industries, education
and social housing.
Notable examples of the projects carried out by COPRODELI are the aid program for
High Risk People, including poor families, women victims of violence,
homeless elderly and disabled people.
Regarding employability, COPRODELI provides development opportunities to those most in need.
staff covering various fronts: professional and entrepreneurial training, internship offer
labor and financial education.
The work of the foundation has been especially essential in recent years, providing assistance
humanitarian aid to the people most affected by the consequences of the pandemic. Volunteers and
COPRODELI volunteers have assisted more than 38,000 people during 2020, providing
food rations, clothing, school supplies and health care.
In Spain, COPRODELI has committed itself to the challenge of “empty Spain”, applying the values on which the foundation is based, to areas that require economic and demographic development. The project ENCHANTED ALCARRIA It seeks to be a replicable model in other communities, addressing objectives such as job creation through tourism and agribusiness, promoting local identity and culture, welcoming new settlers and training new residents.
