It all started in Ibiza, back in the 80s when she met a silk painting artist, Valerie Pozzo de Borgo, and was fascinated by the beauty of the dyes.

painting. Now from his workshop in Los Molinos, he dedicates his time to painting
on silk and other textiles.

Silvia Rais He uses different painting techniques to create different effects: Gutta, alcohol, salt, thickener and other anti-diffusing products. He currently uses the watercolor technique, a result that he finds spontaneous and vibrant. The dyes are fixed by steam.
For painting on linen and cotton, I use other types of dyes that are fixed with heat. The technique is the same: I stretch the fabric on the frame and paint with brushes. The materials used are natural silk 100%, dyes, thickeners and other specific products for silk.
